La Palma Correctional Facility

LA PALMA CORRECTIONAL Facility

Eloy, AZ

Project Overview:

La Palma Correctional Facility is a 3,060-bed facility that houses inmates for the State of California. The overall project included nine two-story, pre-cast housing units; six pre-engineered metal support buildings; one masonry administration building; and three pre-engineered covered recreation yards. The project was broken into three large site compounds spread over 89 acres.

Faith Technologies was awarded the project in November of 2007. The original completion date was scheduled for March 2009. However, due to extensive coordination and teamwork, Faith Technologies was able to complete the project by January 2009.

The project’s fast-track schedule and separation into three large compounds that ultimately became one compound, made the site utilities very critical during the construction. While Faith Technologies was completing compound two and three, prisoners were housed in compound one. Therefore, Faith Technologies had to insure there were no power interruptions while finishing the site utilities to the remaining buildings. This was accomplished by extensive coordination with the owner, general contractor and subcontractors.
